Acting: Redeye Theatre Project at U. of Pittsburgh!

In an amazing experience, 25 people (including me) auditioned on
Friday, May 12, 2006 (just this past Friday) and we were all cast for
plays that would be written overnight. Saturday morning, we all
gathered at the University of Pittsburgh Studio Theatre (in the
basement of the Cathedral of Learning) and received our scripts.
(Our scripts were all written for our perceived strengths and
personalities.)

Almost everyone was a drama/theatre student. Most were from Pitt,
though others were from other local colleges (also studying
drama/theatre). I was the only "non-traditional" person being an
attorney without much formal training (except for just a handful of
acting classes at Open Stage Theatre and some private coaching). (I
was also the only asian actor, although there were two asian
playwrights......)

I was cast in the "I Know You, You Know Me" play -- this was
performed just last night (Saturday the 13th). The role was
perfect....I played the part of Shelby -- a roommate of Julie
(whom she really despises and tries the best to avoid) whose
very private poems (about her mother's last moments on
earth/her dying) were uncovered (by the snooping Julie).
There were moments of sadness, weakness, and anger.

Contracts professors exposed (their comments in reaction to student exams anyway)! (Blogs unfortunately were not in vogue when I was in law school....)
